Assassin’s Creed Shadows Free Content: Corrupted Castles, ISU Quest and Attack on Titan Collab in 2025

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Free Content update 2025

Ubisoft has announced the free content coming for Assassin’s Creed Shadows until the end of 2025, including many exciting surprises. In this blog, we will take a detailed look at these updates, including October and November updates, new features, and a few things that were not shown in the roadmap video. So let’s begin.

October Update: New “Corrupted Castles” Feature

The October update introduces a new feature called Corrupted Castles, which was teased by Simon in the pre-launch stream. In this feature, five castles that you have already completed in each in-game season will become “corrupted.” Enemies will respawn in these castles, but this time they will be stronger and have new moves. Defeating these enemies will give you Abstergo-style chests containing new Animus-themed rewards.

Rewards: Ubisoft has not yet revealed the rewards, but it is likely that they will be similar to the armor set that Yasuke received in the previous project. For example, Yasuke’s white design armor set not only looked amazing, but also had very useful perks.

  • Headpiece: If you wear the headpiece while performing a posture attack, a digital effect may trigger, which starts a second posture attack. It looks great when captured in photo mode.
  • Cannibal: If you have unlocked the “Constant Pressure” skill, a dark digital effect will lock the enemy for a moment when you attack with a weapon.
  • Mark of Control Armor: With this armor, there is a 15% chance that your hit will “phase through,” meaning it will not deal any damage, which is very useful on high difficulty.

Nawae currently does not have such perks, but it is expected that she might also get an Animus-themed armor set or weapon. Completing corrupted castles may reward you with extra gold and resources such as keys that can be used in exchange.

New Parkour Moves

This update also includes new parkour moves for Nawae and Yasuke:

  • Directional Catch Ledge: You can now catch any edge while falling down, even from a hook swing. This will open new possibilities in the game.
  • Vertical Ledge Grab: This existing feature has been improved. Now you can climb directly up using ropes, lanterns, or other props even while crouching.
  • Manual Jump: An option to do a small jump from non-stationary objects (like ropes) has been added, making gameplay smoother.

Advanced Parkour Option: A new option has been added in settings. When turned on, all safeguards will be removed. Now you can jump from more than 10 meters, as long as you use the Egan Roll or the new edge-grabbing feature. Nawae has also received a new animation where she lands by crouching on her feet after a fall.

This update will go live on 28 October, and we will stream it.

November Update: ISU Content and Lots of New Features

The November 25 update will be the last major update of the year, filled with free content. The highlight is a new quest called Puzzlement, where you will solve environmental puzzles to unlock a mysterious door.

ISU Content

This quest is based on the ISU theme and may answer the question of why there was no ISU content earlier in Shadows. Ubisoft has hinted that this quest might be solvable either individually or by the community working together, like Valhalla’s Noden’s Arc. It is expected that rewards will include ISU armor sets or weapons, like the ISU sword in Valhalla which fired projectiles at enemies.

Returning Characters

Two poachers from Nawae’s first flashback will return in this quest. These enemies were the toughest in Nightmare mode in New Game Plus. This time, the mission will have a lighthearted style similar to Odyssey.

Protagonist Duel

In this update, you will be able to duel between Nawae and Yasuke. It will be exciting to see how this mechanic works. Both protagonists will also receive new skills:

  • Nawae will get a kick move like Yasuke
  • Yasuke will get non-lethal stealth takedowns, making him better in stealth

New Finishers and Helix Pack

The November update will add new finishers, Animus-themed rewards, and new content in the Helix Store. A new Helix Pack will arrive on 28 October featuring Yasuke’s mask and a kitsune-inspired bo staff.

Second Collaboration

A new collaboration inspired by Attack on Titan will also come in November. It may include a new quest and mythical-style content. This will be similar to the Dead by Daylight collaboration, which had 45 minutes of new content.

December Surprise: New Finishers and Holiday Freebies

Although the roadmap lists November as the last update, Ubisoft has confirmed that new finishers will arrive in December, likely on December 22. These finishers will make existing weapons more varied, like the bo staff which currently has six finishers. Apart from this, holiday freebies and other surprises will also be included.

Update Dates:

  • October 28: Corrupted Castles and new parkour moves
  • November 25: Puzzlement quest, protagonist duel, and Attack on Titan collaboration
  • December (likely 22): New finishers and holiday freebies

Conclusion

The end of 2025 is going to be packed with free content for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Features like Corrupted Castles, new parkour moves, ISU quest, and an Attack on Titan collaboration will make the game even more exciting. What do you think about these updates?
