The moment Free Fire players have been eagerly waiting for has finally arrived. The OB50 update has been officially confirmed and is set to release on 31st July, and it’s bringing a ton of exciting new features, emotes, game changes, and awesome free rewards. If you want to know everything that’s coming with this update, this article is just for you.
Major Lobby & Customization Changes
One of the biggest changes in the OB50 update is related to Look Changer Animation. After the update, players can change their character’s look directly from the lobby itself. A new icon will appear near the emote wheel, where you can access your look changer animations. However, if your account doesn’t have this feature, the icon will not show up.
In addition, managing and wearing bundles is now easier than ever. In the Wallet > Fashion > Bundles section, you’ll see all your available bundles. You’ll get a new Cube Bundle button to wear unopened bundles instantly and a Star icon to mark your favorites for quick access.

Advanced Scanner System
Earlier, you could only scan QR codes using the camera. But after the OB50 update, a new “Album” option will be added. This will let you select and scan QR codes directly from your phone gallery. This feature will be available in Custom Rooms, Team Code section, and other scanning areas too.
One more thing: The QR code icon from the player profile will be removed. So, it’s a good idea to take a screenshot of your UID’s QR code before the update — it might be useful later.

Damage Display and Backpack Update
The update also brings a new setting called Total Damage Display. When it’s turned on, you’ll see the total damage you’re giving to enemies. If turned off, you’ll see the individual damage numbers like before. You can switch this setting even during a match.
There’s also a new design for the Level 3 Backpack, but right now it’s only visible in the wallet. In actual gameplay (like CS or BR), it still looks the same. So, we’re not sure if this change will be reflected inside the game too.
